Half-bird, half beautiful woman, this highly charged feminine energy was able to lure passing sailors to their doom and watery demise by singing. Daughters of the river god Achelous and a Muse, Siren’s were fated to die if anyone should survive their singing.  In some myths, they were created to be the playmates of young Persephone (daughter of Zeus, Goddess of Springtime), but were then turned into monsters by her mother Demeter after Hades abducted Persephone.

The Siren archetype is symbolic of feminine power over men.  She is not only sensual, attractive, and alluring….she is tantalizing and most certainly deadly.  She influences the male mind and uses them to her own ends. This energy is regal and in charge. She unapologetically honors silence as well as her own moods.  She is confident and physically undeniable.
